Overview for businesses, providers & organizations

What Sentinel is — and why it's worth being on it

Sentinel is a family network where parents and caregivers find providers, coverage, programs, events and local support in one place. Instead of a directory nobody maintains, Sentinel matches families to services based on their child's age, needs, location and actual insurance plan. If your organization serves families, being on Sentinel means being findable at the exact moment a parent is looking.

Four reasons organizations join

Reach local families at the moment of need

Sentinel is where parents and caregivers search for care, coverage, programs and support — usually right after a diagnosis, a move, an insurance change or a school year transition. Your profile appears inside those searches, not in a feed people scroll past.

  • Discovery by service type, age, distance and availability
  • Appears in Find Help results and Ask Sentinel answers
  • Surfaced in Orbits and local Events near your location

Insurance-verified visibility

Most family searches stall on one question: "Do you take my insurance?" Sentinel resolves that up front using payer-published network data plus Marketplace plan data, so families see an evidence-based status rather than a guess.

  • Verified In Network — matched at the payer's plan level
  • Likely Match — carrier-network evidence, clearly labeled
  • Provider Reported — what you told us, labeled as such
  • Fewer wasted calls and fewer no-fit inquiries for your staff

Trust built from real parent recommendations

Families trust other families. Sentinel recommendations are tied to real accounts, moderated, screened for personal information, and protected against duplicate influence. Businesses can respond publicly.

  • Moderated recommendations with tags like Autism-friendly or Sensory-aware
  • One meaningful voice per family — no review brigading
  • Owner responses on your profile
  • Sponsored placement never changes match quality or ranking trust

Free to claim, upgrades when you're ready

Claiming and verifying your profile costs nothing. Paid partner levels add community demand intelligence and reporting for teams that need it.

  • Free: verified profile, services, eligibility, insurance, contact, events
  • Paid: demand insights, geographic and service-gap views, exports
  • No long-term contract required to be listed

How families actually find you

  1. 1A parent asks Sentinel something in plain language — "lymphedema pump supplier that takes our plan" or "OT for a 6-year-old near Sacramento."
  2. 2Sentinel routes the question to real search over verified places, services and events — not a generated guess.
  3. 3Results are ranked by fit: insurance evidence, distance, age match, availability and community signals.
  4. 4Each result explains why it matched, with a clear insurance status and source label.
  5. 5The parent opens your profile, sees your services, events and parent recommendations, and calls, books or gets directions.

Sponsored or promoted content is labeled and excluded from match quality.
Insurance statuses always show their evidence source and are never overstated.
Parent recommendations are moderated and screened for personal information before publishing.

Common questions

Does it cost anything to be listed?

No. Claiming and verifying your profile is free, including services, insurance detail, locations and events. Paid partner levels are optional and add community demand intelligence and reporting.

Can we pay for better placement?

No. Sponsored content is labeled and never influences match quality or trusted matching. Ranking is driven by fit — insurance evidence, distance, age, need and community signals.

Where does the insurance data come from?

Payer-published network and plan catalogs, plus federal Marketplace plan data, combined with what providers report. Every status shown to families carries a source label so nothing is presented as more certain than it is.

What do you do with family data?

Partner insights are aggregated and privacy-safe. Partners never see individual families, personal information or identifiable searches.

Someone already created a listing for us. Can we take it over?

Yes. Search for your organization and claim it. If your email domain matches, verification is immediate; otherwise it goes to review and we notify you when access is granted.
