Security, privacy & accessibility

Published practices, and what is still under review

This page states only what is currently verified. Anything awaiting engineering, legal or audit review is listed as such rather than claimed.

Data minimization

Family accounts are asked only for what a feature requires. Sensitive detail is optional, entered by the family, and never required to browse resources.

Consent before sensitive input

Screens that collect health, disability or child-related information explain what is collected and why before the family enters anything.

Role-based access

Application access is scoped by role. Database access rules are enforced per record so accounts can only reach their own data.

Account and data deletion

Families can delete their account and associated records from within the app, without contacting support.

Agency reporting is de-identified

Reporting delivered to agencies and organizations is aggregate. Individual family records are not shared with agency partners.

Security contact

Suspected vulnerabilities can be reported to hello@sentinelbiosystems.com and are triaged on receipt.

Accessibility conformance

Sentinel is designed toward WCAG 2.2 AA and Section 508 readiness. A conformance level will be stated only after an audit.

Accessibility approach

How accessibility is built, not bolted on

  • Semantic structure, labelled controls and visible focus states
  • Keyboard operability across navigation and forms
  • Contrast targets applied to text and interactive elements
  • Plain-language content written for caregivers
  • Restrained motion, with no essential information conveyed by animation alone
  • Accessibility issues accepted at hello@sentinelbiosystems.com and tracked to resolution

AI use and limitations

How AI is used in Sentinel

Assistive, not authoritative

AI helps families phrase and narrow a search. Results link back to the underlying listing.

No clinical or eligibility decisions

Sentinel does not diagnose, triage or determine eligibility for any program.

Human-correctable

Listings are agency- and provider-maintained, and corrections take effect in the source record.
