Families Growing Together

National Movement

Protecting Children. Empowering Families. Strengthening Schools.

A nationwide initiative led by Sentinel Biosystems to set a new standard for child safety — across health, nutrition, schools, transportation, and emergency response.

Our Mission

A safer country for every child — by design, not by luck.

The National Child Safety Initiative unites families, schools, healthcare systems, advocates, and policymakers around a shared standard for protecting children with food allergies, autism, disabilities, and medical needs — and the systems that surround them. We're tackling nutrition access, emergency communications, transportation safety, school security, and parent rights as one connected mission.

The Ten Policy Pillars

National Child Safety & Medical Access Initiative

Ten connected reforms — from QR safety plans and stock epinephrine to cafeteria standards, sensory-friendly meals, and a national data registry — that together raise the floor of protection for every child.

QR Safety Plans in Schools

A secure, scannable child safety profile for every student — allergies, IEPs, medications, autism supports, and emergency contacts available in seconds.

Mandatory Annual Staff Training

Required yearly training for teachers, nurses, bus drivers, and substitutes on anaphylaxis response, seizure care, autism support, and emergency protocols.

Emergency Threat Notification Standards

Two-way parent-first alert systems with clear timelines, plain language, and documented protocols families can actually rely on.

Epinephrine Access & Insurance Reform

Insurance coverage for the medically appropriate number of EpiPens per child, stock epinephrine in every school, and an end to coverage gaps and replacement delays.

Cafeteria Allergy Safety Standards

Ingredient transparency, allergen-aware food handling, separate prep areas, and Top-15 allergen protections in every K-12 cafeteria.

Autism & Sensory-Friendly Meal Access

Texture, sensory, and feeding accommodations recognized as medical needs — protected for students with autism, ARFID, IEPs, and 504 plans.

Daycare and Childcare Safety Standards

Extend safety plans, medication access, and trained-staff standards from K-12 down into daycare, preschool, and after-care environments.

Medical Alert Integration

Standardized medical alerts that travel with the child across school, transportation, field trips, and emergency responders.

Parent Communication Standards

Required notification windows for medical events, allergen exposures, behavioral incidents, and emergencies — with documentation parents can access.

National Data & Research Registry

A voluntary, de-identified national registry tracking incidents, outcomes, and best practices to drive evidence-based child safety policy.
